Former Lakefield Man Gets Into Court.

  • Worthington Globe: "Monday afternoon, Mike MCGLIN, of Kinbrae, Minn., was arrested by Sheriff FAUSKEE and brought to this city to answer to the charge of using obscene language. The warrant was issued upon the complaint of Paul PAULSON, also of Kinbrae. The trouble was the outcome of a quarrel between MCGLIN and PAULSON, during which it is alleged some hard language was used by both parties. The quarrel occurred Friday, Nov. 15. Upon being brought to this city Monday, MCGLIN was taken before Justice of the Peace C.W.W. DOW to answer to the charge of using obscene language. He entertained a plea of guilty and was fined $5 and costs, which amount was promptly paid. By way of retaliation, MCGLIN at once secured a warrant against PAULSON, charging him with a like offense. PAULSON was brought to this city Wednesday and taken before Justice DOW for a hearing. He entered a plea of not guilty and his hearing was set for Monday, Nov. 25. Both Mr. PAULSON and Mr. MCGLIN are well known and respected citizens of Kinbrae and the present unpleasant event is the first of its kind with which their names have ever been connected."
